When and how?

The polar nights awaken us by showing their harvested treasures: The art scene shines while the northern lights brighten up.

BLACKOUT wants to celebrate darkness as a time full of creation, cast light on a space that is filled with art, colors, proximity, natural and human beauty.

Less light pollution = more art expression & sustainability!

By turning off the city lights spaces are freed, emptied of the noise of light pollution and unusual places are encountered. New areas are emerging, that reconnect us with each other, help us to share and rethink together our space/footprints/energy consumption.

By taking away the city lights we can draw the attention toward different lights/topics that are part of the arctic world/nowadays dilemmas.

 NORDIC ARTISTS = NORDEN LIGHTS

By turning off the lights, we cut off the urban/digital hyper stimulation, our eyes get used to the lack of lights and they observe something else, our other senses get awaken while connecting to nature and the sky.

“Light normality” gets suspended and artists can shine out of privileged situations, within a new sensorial playground/space.

In a newly designed low-light landscape, the northern artists/lights can emerge, shine: spaces are freed, emptied of the light pollution and unusual places are created.

The local and international audience is projected into a space where local and international artists perform, the absence of light gives space for art to illuminate us.
