Alessandro Belleli

Director of Festival/Blackout inventer

Wondering arctic-tropical anthropologist and film/foto director in love with both the North and the South. Alessandro is a nomad that found his stable home more north than Santa Claus’s home (Tromsø*). He devoted the last 12 years of his life lo learn about people, creativity and pictures from the Arctic(s), especially Northern Norway.

Driven by the idea that dreams deserve to become true right here, right now, he decided (against all the odds) to make Blackout become true. U can stalk him HERE

Rhian Collings

Creative consultant/Blackout stage producer

Over a nomadic decade, Rhian hopped from island to island, drawn to these self-contained spaces and their stories. From Sardinia to Reunion Island, from Haida Gwaii to Cape Verde and back to her native British Isles, she worked as a teacher and translator, studied literature, learnt languages, shared cold swims, sweaty hikes and long philosophical conversations.

A series of coincidences then led her to Northern Norway, where she has lived for the past four years… on an island, of course! Here, she draws inspiration from the rugged Arctic archipelagos and channel her creative energy into her work as a documentary screenwriter and creative producer.

Oliver Vanderpoorten

Science & Art/ Blackout stage producer

Oliver is a scientist and artist with big fascination for light technology and a passion for challenges. Being a microscopist for more than 8 years in several optics institutions around the world, he uses his skills to communicate science to the general public using optical phenomena for creative light installations, photographic exhibitions and nano-artworks. In Blackout he sees an intuitive way for people to experience the full spectrum of light, which allows all their senses to be focused on the interaction – understanding that light can be touched, bend and shaped at our own will to foster creativity.
